Does the curriculum work for both weekday and weekend maktabs?
Yes. The same books work across all settings. Whether you run 2 days a week or 5, weekend or weekday, you do not need different materials. The document below includes ready-made timetable examples ranging from 5 hours per weekend up to 10 hours per week, so you can find one close to your setting and adapt from there.
Weekend formats covered:
- 5 hours per weekend (2.5 hrs each day, Qurʾān/Tajwīd + Islamic Studies)
- 6 hours per weekend (adds Arabic on Sunday)
- 7 hours per weekend (the format used at Safar Academy branches)
Weekday formats covered:
- 5 hours per week (single lesson per day, Mon–Fri)
- 6 hours per week across 3 days, with or without breaks
- 7.5 hours per week across 3 or 5 days
- 8 hours per week across 4 days
- 10 hours per week (5 days, includes Tarbiyah/assembly slot)
All suggestions are for guidance only. You can adjust lesson lengths, days and subject slots to fit your institutes needs. If your setting is not covered or you need help working out the right fit, get in touch and we can advise directly.
