Can younger primary-aged children be taught Arabic?

Yes, younger primary-aged children (5-11 years old) can be taught Arabic as a language effectively and we strongly encourage its inclusion alongside Islamic Studies.

At Safar, we recognise that children in the early years and primary stage learn best through simple, engaging and well-structured approaches. When taught in an age-appropriate way, Arabic can be both accessible and enjoyable, helping children build early familiarity, confidence and a natural connection with the language of the Qurʾān.

It should be delivered in a way that suits the developmental needs of younger learners and supports their overall learning journey.
